Stipple engraving by James Denison-Pender on two sheets of optical crystal, each engraved on both
sides, mounted in an aluminium frame on a stainless steel base. This piece explores the three dimensional effect of engraving on two sides of two 5mm optical crystal
sheets, and mounting them one behind the other, separated by a 5mm gap.
The title refers to the Bridge of Sighs in Cambridge, and to the feelings of the young student
on realising that, while the girl has his attention, he does not have hers.
