WINTER WORDS

The engraving illustrates the eight Thomas Hardy poems set by Benjamin Britten as his song cycle "Winter Words" for tenor and piano. Each poem is represented within one large and one small petal of a stylised flower. The Eight poems are:-

5. THE CHOIRMASTER'S BURIAL
6. PROUD SONGSTERS
